Erie School District Educational Foundation
Expanding Excellence in Education
"Our children are our future. They will carry on what we have started, but in a future totally different from the past, or even the present. We must prepare them for it, as we close one century and step into the next."
What is the Foundation?
The Erie Educational Foundation is a non-profit, tax exempt organization that operates independently of Erie School District's Board of Education. It is governed by a volunteer Board of Directors made up of community business and education leaders.
What is the Mission of the Foundation?
To provide students and community members with enriched and expanded educational opportunities of financial and other resources. These resources shall be used to enhance the quality of educational programs and services available to Erie students and citizens.
Why was the Foundation Founded?
The regular operation budget monies of the school district are spent for basic core education costs. Often innovative and creative learning and teaching projects that extend beyond the basics cannot be undertaken because of limited resources. The Foundation hopes to offer students and staff opportunities to learn and develop beyond the normal scope of funding.
